Our Governance

Knowle United Charity is overseen by 12 Trustees supported by their Clerk, Simon Chaloner, who manages the day-to-day operations and property matters. The Charity operates in line with its Governing Constitution, and the Trustees are responsible for ensuring all activities comply with this document.

Trustees meet formally three times a year — in March, July, and November. In addition, the Property Sub-Committee and the Clerk’s Sub-Committee meet as needed to handle specific matters.

The Charity owns the land on which Knowle Church of England Primary Academy (Junior School) is built, and for many years has provided grants to the school under the former Knowle Educational Charity.

Thanks to income from its properties and investments, the Trustees are able to award grants to local residents and community groups, supporting both the relief of need and the promotion of education in the area.

The Charity’s annual accounts and reports are publicly available via the Charity Commission website
